Frequently asked questions
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial — no credit card required. You get full access to all features on your chosen plan from day one.
How does per-fee-earner pricing work?
You pay for each user who has a fee-earner role (solicitor, partner, paralegal doing chargeable work). Support staff, administrators, and read-only users are not counted.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time and the charge is prorated. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal date.
Is my data secure?
All data is hosted in the UK (AWS eu-west-2, London), encrypted in transit and at rest, and each firm's data lives in its own isolated database. The platform is designed to support your firm's UK GDPR obligations, and your data is not used by Obiter to train AI models. See our Security page for the full picture.
Which email providers do you connect to?
Obiter connects to Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) and Google Workspace via OAuth. On-premises Exchange and other IMAP providers are available on Enterprise plans.
Do you support LAA / CCMS billing for legal aid firms?
Yes — LAA claim automation is included on all Professional and Enterprise plans. We support LH, MHLS, Crime Lower, Crime Higher, Family, and Housing billing codes.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export all your data (matters, emails, billing records) at any time. After cancellation, your data is retained for 30 days then securely deleted, per our data retention policy.
Can I get a custom quote for a large firm?
Absolutely. Contact us for volume pricing, custom SLAs, white-label options, and bespoke integrations with case management systems like Clio or LEAP.
